Every book begins long before the first chapter.
Sometimes it begins as a quiet idea that won't leave you alone...
Other times, it is a story you've carried for decades,
Often it is inspired by a question, a calling, a season of life, or an experience that changed everything.
Whatever has found its way into your heart...

I believe it arrived for a reason.

And I believe you don't have to carry it alone.

What is a Book Doula?
Perhaps you've been carrying a book for years.

Its pages have lived in journals, voice notes, conversations with trusted friends, scraps of paper tucked into drawers, or quiet moments when you've thought, "Someday..."
Or perhaps you've already begun, only to discover that writing a book is as much about becoming the writer as it is about filling the pages.
If that feels familiar...
You're exactly where you need to be.
A Book Doula walks beside you through the deeply personal journey of bringing a book into the world.

As your book takes shape, so will you. Together, we'll gently tend the writer, the manuscript, and the beautiful relationship unfolding between them.
Because books have a beautiful way of changing us while we're writing them. And I believe that transformation deserves just as much care as the words on the page.
Perhaps you're here because...

-
A book has been quietly asking for your attention.
-
You're writing, yet finding it difficult to stay connected to the page.
-
You're navigating self-doubt, grief, transition, or a season that has changed how you write.
-
You're longing for someone to witness both your words and your becoming.
-
You know your book is about more than publishing. It's about honoring something meaningful within you.

"Books aren't born on a deadline. They unfold in seasons.
That's why my work is rooted in rhythm rather than urgency, curiosity rather than pressure, and companionship rather than perfection."
~Debra
How We Might Work Together
Every writer's journey is beautifully unique.

Some books arrive ready to be explored through a single conversation. Others invite us into a longer season of listening, writing, and becoming. Whether you're just beginning or already well on your way, we'll discover the rhythm that best honors both you and your book.

1
The Conversation
A 90-minute private session.
Every meaningful book begins with a conversation.
Together, we'll explore your ideas, reconnect with your voice, and listen for the threads your book is asking you to follow.
2
The Companion
Private, ongoing support.
A private writing partnership that offers thoughtful guidance, compassionate accountability, and steady encouragement as both you and your book continue to take shape.
We will customize your time to honor your needs.

The Circle
Two seasonal circles each year.
Some journeys are meant to be shared. Gather with a circle of women who are writing books and discover the courage, encouragement, and wisdom that naturally emerge when writers come together.
(Our next circle gathers in September.)
A note from me to you...
Over the past twenty years, I've had the extraordinary privilege of walking alongside women through seasons of becoming.

Together, we've uncovered what matters most, untangled the stories that no longer fit, listened for the quiet wisdom of intuition, and honored the threads that were gently calling them toward a life that felt more fully their own.

My heart is especially drawn to women whose lives have become their greatest teachers... women whose books are growing from lived experience, hard-earned wisdom, and a quiet desire to leave something meaningful behind.
Looking back now, I can see something I couldn't yet see then.
Every conversation, every circle, every transition, and every sacred pause was quietly preparing me for this season of Work.
For a long time, I thought I was helping women find their way back to themselves. Looking back now, I can see I was also learning how to intuitively guide women as they found their way to the page.

Writing has been my companion for as long as I can remember. It has walked beside me through seasons of joy and grief, celebration and uncertainty, curiosity and becoming. Long before I imagined becoming a Book Doula, I was filling journals, writing poetry and haiku, crafting blog posts, white papers, keynote speeches, podcast scripts, and countless other pieces that helped me make sense of the world around me.

Along the way, I had the joy of publishing a book that has found its way into the hands of more than 25,000 readers.
Now, I can see that every page I wrote... every word I searched for, every story I shaped, and every lesson I learned was preparing me for this chapter.
Over the years, I've come to believe that every book is more than words gathered into chapters.

It's courage finding its voice.
It's lived experience becoming shared wisdom.
It's healing finding language.
It's a heart whispering, "This is ready to be shared."

Somewhere along the way, I stopped seeing books as projects to complete.

I began seeing them as companions... patiently waiting for the right season, the right rhythm, and the right care to come into the world.

That is the invitation I now feel called to offer.

To walk beside women as they listen for the books that are asking to come through them... gently tending both the writer and the book she is bringing into the world.
This Work feels like the place every thread has been leading me.
If your book has been quietly whispering your name...
I would be honored to walk beside you.

In sacred sisterhood,

What happens after our first conversation?
If we both feel the resonance is there, we'll discover the rhythm that best honors both you and your book.

Some writers are looking for a single conversation to reconnect with their voice. Others long for a companion to guide them through the writing journey, while many find exactly what they need in the wisdom and encouragement of circle.
Our first conversation is simply the beginning... a chance to listen for what your book is asking of you and explore what kind of support would serve you best.
Either way, you'll leave with greater clarity, a deeper connection to your voice, and a renewed sense of trust in the journey ahead.
